2 Million visit Rijksmuseum
The "Rijksmuseum" in Amsterdam has already attracted 2 million visitors since the reopening on April 13 this year. The museum welcomed the two millionth visitor, a young tourist from Israel, Tuesday.Managing Director, Wim Pijbes, welcomed the visitor and her friend.
The Rijksmuseum already received its millionth visitor in August. Since its reopening by the then Queen Beatrix, the museum receives between seven and ten thousand visitors daily, which is beyond expectation. 1.5 to 2 million visitors were anticipated over a whole year.

More than a quarter of the visitors use an e-ticket to bypass the queues at the registers. The busiest times are on weekends, and between 11.00 and 15.00. The museum underwent a major renovation of nearly ten years. There are eighty rooms, where some eight thousand works of art are on display, including Rembrandt's Night Watch, two 14th-century Japanese temple guardians, the Mondrian dress by Yves Saint Laurent, and the oldest remaining, in original condition preserved, plane from the Netherlands.
