Minimum wage workers to earn a few dozen euros more per month from July

Residents of the Netherlands earning minimum wage will get an increase on July 1. Depending on the hours worked, minimum wage earners can expect a net increase of between €23 and €31 per month, according to calculations by payroll company Youforce.

All minimum wage earners will benefit. “But what someone actually sees in their bank account varies greatly depending on the situation,” Youforce CEO Stefan Op de Woerd said.

Minimum wage earners with a 36-hour contract will get €28.59 extra from July, bringing their net monthly salary to €2,214.35 (+1.31%). Those working 38 hours a week will receive an additional €31.12 per month, amounting to a net salary of €2,300.68 (+1.37%). Those with a 40-hour work week will see an increase of €28.80 to €2,378.84 per month (+1.23%).

For minimum wage earners working part-time, the increase is smaller in euros, but the biggest in percentage. Their net monthly salary will rise by €23.27 to €1,275.96 per month, an increase of 1.86 percent.

The Netherlands adjusts its gross minimum wage for inflation every six months. As of July 1, the statutory minimum wage for adults is €14.99 per hour.
