Suspect arrested in Best stabbing of hospitality owner after alleged break-in attempt

A suspect was arrested on Friday evening in Best in connection with the stabbing of a well-known hospitality owner, as police continue to investigate the case. The arrest comes after an incident in which the victim, the owner of Grand Café FF and the Prinsenhof event center, was attacked near Hoofdstraat following what investigators believe was an attempted burglary or theft.

The victim had been at the Prinsenhof early Friday morning preparing a coffee table for a post-funeral gathering when the situation unfolded. Police say the suspect likely attempted to break in or steal something, prompting the hospitality owner to pursue him. The confrontation escalated a short distance away, near Grand Café FF on Hoofdstraat, where the man was stabbed.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack but was taken into custody by police later on Friday evening. Authorities confirmed the individual is being held at a police station. The investigation is ongoing, and police declined to provide further details upon request on Friday evening. More information is expected to be released on Saturday. The original report noted the incident occurred Friday evening, with updates provided Saturday morning at 8:29 a.m., following an initial report at 9:27 p.m. the previous day.

In separate local developments, a rare vintage computer was discovered in Tilburg at thrift store La Poubelle. The item is a Commodore PC-20-3 from 1987, including its monitor. According to employee Rolf Goliembiewski, it is a notable find. He described it as “a relatively rare IBM-compatible PC from Commodore.”

Meanwhile in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, entertainers Kees and John—known as “De Bevers”—are preparing for a new feature film in which they will star. Kees revealed that the project had been kept secret from John for a year. “I have kept the plans secret for a year, but from today everyone is allowed to know, including John,” he said proudly. The duo has previously built a career spanning reality television on RTL, appearances in various game shows, singing performances, and theater work.
