33-year-old Dutch man severely injured by black SUV in German hit-and-run

A 33-year-old Dutch man was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident late Friday night in Düsseldorf. The pedestrian was struck while crossing a road just outside the city center, German police reported. Police said the vehicle involved is described as a black SUV.

According to witnesses, the driver briefly stopped at the scene but then fled within seconds without checking on the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not immediately release further details on his condition.

German police have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to come forward. No arrests have been made.
