Father and daughter arrested after man found dead in Boxmeer car
Police arrested a 43-year-old man and his 20-year-old daughter from Boxmeer on Friday morning in connection with the death of a 39-year-old man whose body was found in a stolen car on October 13, Omroep Brabant reported. Authorities say the pair are suspected of moving, hiding, and abandoning the victim’s body.
The victim was discovered lifeless in a car on the Loerangelstraat in Boxmeer on Monday afternoon, October 13, after a passerby noticed the vehicle parked in a roadside ditch and reported it to the police. Officers arriving at the scene found the man dead inside the vehicle.
During the investigation, police traced a connection to the Belgian town of Torhout, where a drug lab was uncovered one week after the body was found. Four Dutch nationals were arrested at the site. Authorities are still investigating the link between the victim in Boxmeer and the Belgian drug operation.
Investigators also found indications that the 42-year-old father and his daughter may have been involved in moving and concealing the body. Both suspects are in custody and being questioned. The mother of the family is also being interviewed as a witness.
Police launched a large-scale investigation following the discovery of the body. Tips from the public, social media, and neighborhood inquiries—including submissions via the show Opsporing Verzocht (Investigation Requested)—helped authorities identify the suspects.
