Two injured, one seriously, in Oisterwijk stabbing; Police arrest suspect
Two men were injured in a stabbing at an asylum seekers’ center in Oisterwijk, Noord-Brabant, overnight Friday into Saturday, police said Saturday morning.
The victims are a 38-year-old and a 37-year-old man. A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody as police investigate his involvement.
All three men—the victims and the suspect—are residents of the asylum center on Kievitsblekweg. The 38-year-old was treated at a hospital and released, while the 37-year-old remains hospitalized.
The stabbing occurred around 2:10 a.m., and the emergency services received a report of the stabbing at around 2:45 a.m. Police are investigating what exactly happened inside the asylum center.
Emergency services responded heavily, deploying multiple police vehicles, ambulances, and a trauma helicopter. The area was sealed off for investigation, which remained ongoing Saturday morning.
