Police end investigation into violent deaths of mother, child in Terneuzen; No arrests

Those in the Netherlands in life threatening danger should immediately dial 112 for emergencies, and anyone suffering from depression or contemplating suicide can call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie at any time by dialing either 113 or 0800-0113, or by visiting 113.nl.

The police have almost completed their investigation into the deaths of a 29-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter in Terneuzen this week. According to the police, there are no indications of “third-party involvement in this tragic incident,” and no arrests have been made.

The woman and child were found dead in a home on Vincent van Goghstraat on Monday. It was immediately clear that they had died violently, and the police launched a large-scale investigation.

The police conducted an extensive forensic investigation and interviewed several family members, neighbors, and other witnesses. They also interviewed the child’s father, but quickly announced that he wasn’t a suspect.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the police will share no further details.
