Armed men rob Doorwerth gas station, threaten employee
Two men held up a gas station on Van der Molenallee in Doorwerth, Gelderland, on Friday evening, threatening an employee with a firearm and demanding cash and tobacco, authorities said.
According to Omroep Gelderland, the incident occurred just before closing time when the two suspects ran from a dark corner of the parking lot.
The employee was completing end-of-day tasks when one of the men approached her, pulled a gun, and said he would kill her if she did not comply. The suspect holding the firearm was reportedly wearing black Nike gloves. His accomplice stayed in the doorway, blocking the exit.
Under threat, the employee opened the cash register. The armed suspect took several tens of euros and quickly grabbed a few packs of tobacco before both men fled. The employee was left unharmed but terrified.
Police later recovered part of the stolen cash near the nearby flats on Dillenburg. Authorities stated that the suspects may reside or be present in the area.
