Two killed in single-vehicle crash on Hunnenweg in Voorthuizen

Two people were killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle accident on Hunnenweg, a narrow forest road in Voorthuizen, police reported.

The crash occurred around 22:45 on the paved section of the road, which is mostly unpaved and runs through a forested area, NU.nl reported.

The vehicle involved, an older Volvo station wagon, was heavily damaged. Police had to confirm that no additional occupants were in the car, which turned out to be the case.

Authorities indicated that it appears to have been a one-vehicle accident, meaning no other vehicles were involved. The identities of the two victims have not yet been released.

Officials urged anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to contact local authorities.
