18-year-old pedestrian killed in truck crash on A50 near Uden
An 18-year-old man from Nistelrode died Friday night in a collision involving a truck on the A50 highway between Eindhoven and Oss, Omroep Brabant reported. The accident occurred shortly after 3:15 a.m. near Uden, police confirmed Saturday morning.
The exact circumstances leading to the pedestrian being on the highway remain unclear. Authorities stated late Friday that "there is still much uncertainty" regarding the incident, and a full investigation is underway.
The A50 was closed for several hours between Uden-Zuid and Nistelrode following the accident. Traffic was redirected, and drivers heading toward Nijmegen were advised to use the A2 and A59 via Den Bosch until around 8 a.m. when the highway was reopened.
Police continue to investigate how the victim ended up on the motorway and the sequence of events that caused the fatal collision with the truck. No further details about the truck or driver have been released.
