Chilly weather to give way to higher temps from Thursday

The weather is currently chilly in the Netherlands, but thermometers should start climbing higher again from Thursday, the weather services expect. The KNMI forecasts temperatures up to 24 degrees by Sunday. According to Weeronline, the 20-degree mark won’t be out of reach in the south this weekend.

But first, some chilly weather. Tuesday will see increasing cloud cover from the north, with the occasional light shower. “It will remain cool for this time of year with a maximum of 12 degrees on the Wadden to 16 degrees in the warmest places in the south,” Weeronline said. A moderate northerly wind may make it feel even colder.

Wednesday will also be grey with some light rain from time to time, especially in the southeast. Temperatures will rise between 14 and 17 degrees, north to south.

“A gradual change in the weather will follow from Thursday,” Weeronline expects. The day will see drier and sunnier weather, with a weak to moderate northeasterly wind. Afternoon temperatures will be around 15 degrees on most beaches and 19 degrees in the east and southeast. “This makes it pleasant, in most places even wonderful, spring weather to be outside.”

Friday and the coming weekend will continue to offer dry and fairly sunny weather, with maximums climbing a few degrees higher, both Weeronline and the KNMI expect. Weeronline expects maximums around 15 to 17 degrees at sea and around 20 degrees in the south. The KNMI expects highs of 21 degrees on Saturday and even 24 degrees on Sunday.

According to the KNMI, there is an 80 percent chance that the dry and sunny weather to continue next week, though the temperature forecast is still uncertain.
