Various other emergency services also responded to the scene, including four ambulances and trauma teams in two helicopters.
Emergency workers evacuated the surrounding homes while firefighters tackled the fire. They managed to get it under control within an hour, but the blaze caused a lot of damage.
According to ANP, the home is uninhabitable, and the surrounding homes will have to be checked before their residents can return. Katwijk mayor Cornelis Visser visited the scene to talk to locals.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
