Occasional showers today; Lovely summer weather this weekend
Scattered showers on Friday will steadily give way to more room for sunshine and lovely summer weather over the weekend, according to the meteorological institute KNMI.
Friday morning will be cloudy with occasional rain, especially in the west and north. In the afternoon, the cloud cover will slowly break and the sun may make an appearance. Maximums will climb to around 22 degrees with a weak to moderate west- to southwesterly wind.
The weekend will feel more like summer, with ample room for sunshine, little wind, and temperatures around 25 degrees on Saturday. The Wadden Islands and the southeast may be a bit cooler. Sunday will look much the same, but slightly cooler, with maximums around 22 to 24 degrees.
The KNMI expects next week to be a mix of sun and clouds, with little chance of rain and temperatures around typical for the time of year. Typical maximums for mid-August are around 22.5 degrees, with minums dropping to around 13.8 degrees.
