Drier and sunnier weather expected in the second half of June
After a relatively mild start to the summer in the Netherlands, the chances of drier and sunnier weather in the second half of June should increase. According to Weeronline, it is only uncertain whether it will be warm. However, the chance of summer heat with highs of 25 degrees and more increases.
The first two weeks of June were chilly and changeable, with temperatures around 3 degrees below average. However, according to the weather service, it won't get that cold again in the coming summer months. Next week, temperatures will reach normal values of around 18 degrees at the Wadden Sea, and in the southeast of the country, they could be up to 22 degrees. However, there will also be alternating rain and showers.
Weeronline expects dry and sunny weather to prevail from the end of June. Local showers and thunderstorms are still possible, but the predominantly wet and cloudy weather of recent weeks seems to be over. As it is still unclear which direction the wind will blow from, it is also uncertain how warm it will be. If the wind blows from the south to southeast, there is a chance of summer temperatures of 25 degrees and more; if the wind blows from the sea, it will be no warmer than 19 to 23 degrees. Incidentally, this is normal for the end of June.
This summer's changeable and warm weather also means that the risk of hay fever symptoms increases significantly at the end of the month. As sunny and dry weather prevails, the amount of grass pollen in the air can increase significantly. According to the weather service, many grass species are still in flower at the end of June.
