Explosion at Hague apartment building; Police fire warning shots at suspect
An explosive went off at an apartment complex in The Hague overnight. The police fired two warning shots while arresting a suspect.
The explosion happened at an apartment building on Meppelweg, near the HagaZiekenhuis, the police said at 3:52 a.m. According to NOS, no one got hurt, but the blast caused some damage to the building.
The suspect fled the scene, but responding officers caught up to them on Zilverstraat. They fired two warning shots when arresting the suspect. NOS reported that the suspect tried to get away in a taxi.
The police asked any witnesses or anyone with relevant information or surveillance camera footage to contact them.
