Man seriously hurt in Amsterdam shooting

A 30-year-old man was seriously hurt in a shooting in Amsterdam early on Wednesday morning. He was taken to hospital, the police said on Twitter.

The shooting happened around midnight on Krugerplein in the Oost district. Two suspects were arrested a short time later, the police said.

At this stage, nothing is known about the motive for the shooting. The police are investigating.
