Woman arrested after discovery of body in Gelderland village
A 58-year-old woman was arrested after a body was found in a home on Blauwe Hoek in the Gelderland village of Doornenburg on Monday morning. The victim was identified as a 58-year-old man. The man was killed in a violent way, according to the police.
The police responded to the apartment complex at around 6:45 a.m. after a report. The woman was outside the building. She is suspected of involvement in the man's death. The woman was taken to a police station for questioning.
Whether the man was also the resident of the home in which his body was found, is not yet clear, the police said.
According to De Gelderlander, the apartment complex is mainly occupied by elderly residents. "Only decent people. But yes, something like this can happen there too", a local resident said to the newspaper. "Unbelievable, we are all very surprised that this happened in this complex", another said.
