Believed ISIS member spotted in Amsterdam used stolen, blank passport to enter NL: report

A Syrian man recognized by others as a former fighter for terrorist organization ISIS in De Balie in Amsterdam last year, came into the Netherlands in 2014 with a stolen, blank passport, the Volkskrant reports based on multiple sources.

According to the security services, terrorist organizations like ISIS often give such passports to their fighters to carry out attacks abroad. This may be why intelligence and security service AIVD kept an eye on the Syrian man, the Volkskrant writes. Sources around the AIVD previously described the man as a "serious case" to the newspaper.

Activists of Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently recognized the man as a former member of ISIS when he attended one of their meetings in De Balie on September 14th. The man himself denies having anything to do with the terrorist organization.
