Police chase over Belgian border leads to Maastricht shooting arrests
The police arrested two persons suspected of involvement in a shooting in Maastricht after chasing them into Belgium on Friday morning. According to the police, no one was hurt in the shooting or the chase that followed.
The police responded to Craianstraat in Maastricht around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a report of shots being fired. At the scene responding officers saw a car speeding away and gave chase.
The chase ended in Lanaken, Belgium. With the help of the Belgian police, the Dutch officers arrested the two suspects, who had fled into the bushes. They are in custody for questioning.
The police launched an investigation on Craianstraat. An investigation is also being done where the suspects were arrested.
