Woman arrested in connection with body found in Doetinchem house fire

A 53-year-old woman from Doetinchem was arrested in connection with a body found during a house fire in her hometown early on Sunday morning. The police are still struggling to identify the victim. The victim is not the resident of the home on Papaverstraat that burned down, and the resident is not a suspect, the police said, according to De Gelderlander.

What exactly the Doetinchem woman is suspected of is unclear. The police hope that investigation will reveal her role in the fire. The victim's cause of death is also still under investigation.

After the fire, local residents told De Gelderlander that a woman was seen in the home shortly before flames appeared. At the time the police said they know about the report, but could not comment.
