Man arrested for stabbing girlfriend, unborn child to death
After an hours-long manhunt in the forest in Linschoten, the police finally caught up with and arrested 41-year-old Teunis Z. on Tuesday night. He is suspected of stabbing his girlfriend Charlotte Vlooswijk-Zwezerijnen and their unborn child to death in their Lopik home on Monday night, AD reports.
The police closed down the area around the Linschoten forest after the police helicopter spotted Z.'s sliver Audi driving into the forest on Tuesday morning. Mounted police officers, dozens of riot police officers and the helicopter searched the area for hours. Finally on Tuesday afternoon, the car was found. A group of riot police officers found and arrested Z. a few hours later
Z. was taken away in an ambulance. "He had several injuries, which a doctor had to look at", a police spokesperson said to AD. "These injuries are not so serious that he has to go to hospital."
According to a post on Teunis Z.'s Facebook account, he built the home on the Lopik farm so that he, Charlotte, her daughter and their unborn child can live there. But that went up in smoke when Charlotte threatened to leave him. He was afraid he would never see his child. "You should not take a father's little one. That's why this happened... Here the story ends", he wrote, according to AD.
Where Charlotte's daughter is now is unclear.
