Police sting nets €1.1 million in cash across Amsterdam, Haarlem
The police in Noord-Holland seaixed 1.1 million euros in cash, three banknote counters, three cars and lots of expensive designer clothes in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Hoorn last week in a large investigation into a criminal organization engaged in money laundering. Four suspects were arrested, the police said in a statement.
Officers raided two houses in Amsterdam, one in Hoorn and one in Haarlem on Wednesday last week. A 33-year-old from Haarlme, a 29-year-old from Hoorn and two people from Amsterdam age 35 and 37 were arrrested. The 37-year-old from Amsterdam was released again, but the other three were still in custody on Tuesday.
The police launched this investigation eight months go after numerous anonymous tips.
