The Netherlands can expect the first autumn weather this week, with low tempratures and even an autumn storm or two, according to Weeronline.

On Thursday motorists will have to deal with strong gusts of wind of up to 75 km per hour and lots of rain during the evening rush hour, according to the weather service. Thursday night there will be storms, especially in the western parts of the country, sometimes accompanied with thunder and hail.

And while today is still pretty mild with temperatures up to 14 degrees, the coming dayss will be colder. Friday will not reach double digits, with afternoon temperatures of around 9 degrees expected.

The first official autumn storm is expected on Sunday. A storm is considered an "autumn storm" if wind strength of 9 is measured, according to Het Parool.

Due to the midl October, many trees still have their leaves. Weerplaza therefore warns that there is an increased risk of fallen trees and breaking branches during this week's stormy weather.
