Volendam high school open after Snapchat gun threat
The Don Bosco College in Volendam is open as usual after a gun threat was aimed at it on Snapchat on Sunday. A police investigation led to a boy living outside the Noord-Holland province and concluded that the high school is safe, the Telegraaf reports.
Students informed the school about the Snapchat message showing weapons on Sunday. The school informed the police, who launched an investigation.
Officers visited the boy on Monday and had a talk with him and his parents. At this stage the police assumes the incident is connected to relational problems.
The high school is open as usual. "The police said that the school is safe and that we need not take any action", Rector Jaap Braakman said to the newspaper. "We informed parents and guardians that the school is safe."
