Prison and psychiatric treatment for sexually assaulting baby, two kids

The court in Utrecht convicted Michel van L. from Vianen of sexually abusing children and making and distributing child pornography. He was sentenced to four years in prison and institutionalized psychiatric treatment, RTV Utrecht reports. Van L. was caught early last year after a information was received on an American cyber tip line. The Dutch police searched his home and found that he sent photos of himself sexually assaulting a baby using an email address that contained his full name. Other child pornography was also found. The man had four known victims. Three of them are in the same family, Van L. knows their mother. These three victims include two kids age 7 and 11 years old and a baby of less than a year old. Pictures were found of the man abusing all three kids as well as the family's dog. Experts found that Van L. is a pedophile of low intelligence who also suffers from an antisocial personality disorder and hyper-sexuality. He has little empathy and self reflection and a poorly developed conscience. He can therefore not be held completely responsible. The Public Prosecutor, who demanded 5 years in prison against the man, called his crimes shocking. "That the accused did not understand what he was doing and that he has no insight into the violent abuse and damage he has done is worrisome", the prosecutor said in court two weeks ago.
