Tax authorities raid Utrecht mosque

The Tax Authorities' investigative department FIOD is currently searching the alFitrah mosque in the Utrecht neighborhood Overvecht in connection with a fraud investigation, RTV Utrecht reports. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor would only tell the broadcaster that the building is connected to a foundation that forms part of an ongoing fraud investigation. The alFitrah mosque made headlines early this year due to possible financial ties to a terrorist organization. The Utrecht municipality stated that there was no evidence of such ties.
