Over the past years charities from Kuwait donated some 10 million euros to Islamic institutions in the Netherlands, NRC reports based on a confidential overview of Kuwaiti gifts that the Gulf State provided to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mayor Jan van Zanen of Utrecht and Minister Lodewijk Asscher of Social Affairs are very concerned about developments around the alFitrah mosque in Overvecht. Asscher, also the Deputy Prime Minister, is calling on parents to keep their kids away from the mosque, DUIC reports.

In edition to the alFitrah mosque in Utrecht, the police and Tax Authorities also raided the As-Sunnah mosque in Tilburg-Noord as well as 10 other buildings across the Netherlands on Thursday morning. The authorities believe that the foundation behind the mosques, educational institutions and charity organizations in these buildings are involved in large scale money laundering

PVV leader Geert Wilders has been invited to attend the Islam conference happening in Utrecht from Thursday. In a statement on their website the management of the organizer AlFitrah write that he and everyone else - Muslim or not - are welcome.
