Video: Whirlwind damages homes, fells trees in Gelderland town

A whirlwind caused some significant damage to trees and homes in the Gelderland town of Vorden on Sunday evening. Many tree branches broke off and roof tiles blew off of several homes, De Stentor reports. The whirlwind struck around 6:00 p.m. On Vordense Boseweg several trees and branches fell onto a driveway, resulting in residents not being able to reach their home. On Schuttestraat a number of old beech trees were blown over. Ridge tiles were blown off the roof of at least one home. A spokesperson for the Vorden-Hengelo-Zelhem fire department told De Stentor on Sunday evening that most damage was caused to trees. Several dozen firefighters, along with a platform crane from the Zutphen fire department, were working hard on Sunday evening to clear fallen trees off the road and driveways. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq9FT9cG-fc https://twitter.com/janholtrigter/status/767390287945691136
