Second arrest made in fatal Utrecht town shooting
The police arrested a second suspect in connection with a shooting in IJsselstein on Sunday in which a 37 year old man was killed in front of his daughter.
The second suspect, a 23 year old man from Rosmalen, was arrested in his home town on Thursday afternoon, the police announced. He is suspected of involvement in the shooting.
The shooting happened on Lanceerplaats in the Utrecht town of IJsselstein at around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 17th. The victim was gunned down as he got into his car to drop his daughter off at a lesson. The girl was already in the car. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Shortly after the shooting the police arrested a 22 year old man from Vianen in the neighborhood.
The police believe that more people may have been involved in the shooting and expect that more arrests will follow.
