Man who blew up houseboat says he never meant to kill anyone
Milco G., the man responsible for the fatal houseboat explosion in Wormer last year, never meant to kill anyone, the 27 year old man from Purmerend said at the start of his trial in the court of Alkmaar on Friday, RTL Nieuws reports.
"I did not want to hurt anyone", he said. His only goal was to blow a hole in the houseboat. He first caused a loud bang to lure people out of the boat "I was devastated when it turned out there were causalities."
The bombing in mid-April last year caused the death of a 53 year old man. His 51 year old girlfriend was seriously injured.
During the investigation it turned out that the wrong houseboat was hit. G. actually wanted to blow up a nearby houseboat that belonged to a man he believed sexually abused his sister. The police never found evidence of that accusation.
