Three arrested after drug lab fire

Three men were arrested after a fire in a drug lab in Son en Breugel on Friday afternoon. The police responded to an old farm in the industrial terrain Ekkersijt after receiving a report that a drug lab may be located there. When they arrived officers noticed several people in the property. A short time later a fire broke out and the farm was ablaze. The officers used a megaphone to call to the people inside. After some time three men came running out. The police arrested them, aged 47, 43 and 40 years from Columbia and the Dominican Republic, on suspicion of arson. After the fire was extinguished, the police found traces of a drug lab. Experts from the National Facility Decommissioning have started removing a stock of chemicals. Further investigation will reveal what substances were involved. Forensic experts have also launched a trace evidence investigation at the scene.
