Report: Limburg girl, 15, held in organized terrorism investigation

A 15 year old girl from Sittard has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a criminal organization with terrorist intent. The teenager is currently being held in a juvenile detention facility. Sources close to the investigation confirmed this to the Telegraaf. The girl will appear in the court in Roermond on Thursday. The girl, Rhama E., is originally from Somalia and has been living in Sittard with her mother and brother for some time. Sources within the police confirmed to the newspaper that the girl has been questioned three times by detectives about he possible involvement in criminal activities. Bjorn Brinkman, the attorney representing the girl, confirmed that his client was arrested on September 3rd and is being held in complete isolation. "For the rest I can not comment on this case because limitations rest on this matter." The investigation is being led by the Public Prosecutor in Limburg. The Telegraaf's sources called it "an intense affair that is certainly comparable to the arrest of AIcha from Maastricht". Aicha was arrested in November last year after her mother traveled to Syria to bring the then 19 year old girl back home. The Public Prosecutor eventually decided to dismiss the case due to a lack of evidence.
