Arson suspect busted in Brabant

A 21 year man from Zaltbommel was arrested last night on suspicion of wanting to set a car on fire in Veen, Noord-Brabant. The police noticed the man when they saw him driving by in a car without license plates. This turned into a car chase. At the Wielstraat and Tuinstraat junction the man left the car and tried to flee on foot. The police managed to catch him and he was arrested. The police found tires and jerry cans with gasoline in the car. They suspect that the man wanted to set the car on fire. Car wrecks are set on fire in Veen every New Year's. On New Year's Eve last year, things got out of hand when people turned against the police after a car went up in flames. 100 rioters were arrested.
