Motive unknown in tram worker beating

A tram conductor working for the RET transport company was abused by two 17-year-old local boys on Monday afternoon. The boys have been arrested. The Police in Rotterdam-Rijnmond reports. The conductor on tram line 23 was suddenly beaten in the face by the two suspects while the tram was riding on the Beverwaardseweg. The youths then got off the train and took off. The police was called about the incident, and were able to apprehend the suspects rather quickly thanks to a good description. Their motive is still unknown. The RET has given them a transport ban of eight weeks. According to a spokesperson for the transport company, the conductor is doing well, considering the circumstances.
