A 27-year-old man was arrested in Leiden over the weekend for abusing an 8-year-old boy and live-streaming the abuse on a Facebook group. The police came into action after receiving multiple reports of the live stream, the police said in a statement on Monday.

The Spanish police rescued an elderly Dutch woman and German man from what the police describe as a "horror nursing home" near the city of Cadiz. The two elderly people were locked up with at least five other foreign seniors in the nursing home, where they were drugged, abused and given food exclusively through tube feeding, while they could eat normally, NOS reports.

A 74-year-old Islamic scholar from Oudenbosch can't be prosecuted for rape, abuse and threats because he suffers from dementia, an expert concluded after examining the man. Mitch Henriquez did not die as a result of a chokehold used on him when he was arrested in Zuiderpark in The Hague in June 2015, the Public Prosecutor said in court on Monday. The two police officers charged with the Aruban man's death should therefore be acquitted of manslaughter and death through negligence. Henriquez' arrest was justified, but too much violence was used. The two police officers are therefore guilty of abuse, the Prosecutor said. No punishment was demanded against them, AD reports.

The police arrested six teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 years old in Dordrecht on Friday on suspicion of spreading child pornography. The six teenagers are also suspected of threats, violent robbery and abuse, the police announced on Facebook.
