Police shoot disturbed man in Zoetermeer
Police in Zoetermeer shot a man down on Saturday night when he failed to comply with instructions from the officers. The man was injured, and has been brought to hospital.
According to the police, there was evidence that the man in question was driving around with a weapon in his possession. According to De Telegraaf, the man was suspected of intending to stab someone.
When officers moved to arrest him, urging him to step out of the vehicle, the suspect did not comply. The police then proceeded to shoot. The 31-year-old man was hit, and injured, and is in hospital for treatment. His condition is stable
The National Investigators (Rijksrecherche) will inspect the shooting. It is unclear whether there was indeed a weapon in the vehicle.
