Police pays funeral Rishi

Haaglanden Police pay for the costs of the funeral of the 17-year-old Rishi Chandrikasing, who was shot a year ago at Hollands Spoor station by an officer in plain clothes. A spokesperson confirmed this after an article in the Algemeen Dagblad Friday. It is a gesture to the family for whom the death has been very tragic, according to the spokesperson. It makes a difference the officer did not shoot in self defense. Images from a security camera showed the officer walking with accelerated pace when he fired on November 24, 2012. According to the prosecution that was irresponsible, the officer should have stopped to fire. Den_Haag_-_Station_Holland_Spoor_v1

The decision to take care of the funeral expenses is separate from the outcome of the lawsuit against the officer, according to the police. The trial will be in a few weeks. Minister Ivo Opstelten of Security and Justice chose not to comment on the issue on his way to the Cabinet. He said to be surprised by the news and wants to establish the facts first.
