The police unions are willing to restart collective bargaining agreement talks with Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security. But to keep the pressure on the Minister, police officers will start a series of protest actions, the unions announced on Tuesday after talking with their members, RTL Nieuws reports.

An employee of the police was suspended in a malpractice investigation into police union ANPV, a police spokesperson confirmed to ANP. Two former board members of the union are suspects in this case.

The police spokesperson would not tell ANP who the suspended employee is. The Telegraaf identifies the employee as Leatitia R., a former board member of ANPV who is currently working with job applicants at the police. According to the newspaper, she is suspected of embezzlement, money laundering and forgery.

Paramedics across the Netherlands will hold their first-ever nationwide work stoppage on Wednesday, the FNV union announced on Tuesday. Ambulance crews will only respond to dispatch calls for actual emergencies, and will not go ahead with pre-planned patient transport, the union said.

KLM will cut 22 flights from its schedule beginning in May after the airline was unable to come to an agreement with its labour unions on a new collective bargaining agreement. Regular flights to Bangkok, Nairobi and Shanghai will be scrapped, while trips to new destination Edmonton is postponed, newswire ANP reported.
