Although the jihadist threat changed over he past months, the threat in the Netherlands remains substantial at 4 on a scale of 5, the national coordinator for counter terrorism and security NCTV said on Monday. That means that there is a real probability of an attack in the Netherlands, but there are no concrete indications that one is being planned, ANP reports.

Such countries want to spy, influence public opinion, disrupt society or even sabotage vital systems, the NCTV warns, RTL Nieuws reports.

PVV leader Geert Wilders is allowed to organize a Mohammed-cartoon competition in the Tweede Kamer building. The Dutch coordinator for counter-terrorism and security NCTV sees no safety risks because the exhibition will be held in the PVV chambers, which are highly secured and private, a spokesperson for the NCTV confirmed  to RTL Nieuws.

"The NCTV has informed the Tweede Kamer [the lower house of Dutch parliament] that it has no objection to the exhibition from a safety point of view", the spokesperson said.

The Dutch government is looking into whether children of Dutch jihadists can be removed from camps in Syria, Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security said on television program Pauw. "The children have to leave. They should not be in a camp there", he said, according to RTL Nieuws.

The Minister is working with the National Coordinator for Counter-terrorism and Security to investigate how the children can be brought out of the camps in a safe manner. "It is an extremely difficult matter", Grapperhaus said. "I find it terribly wrong that children are in these areas."

The municipality of The Hague was justified in withdrawing the passports of two men who were suspected of planning to join jihadist groups in Syria or Iraq in 2015, the Council of State ruled on Wednesday, RTL Nieuws reports.

The court in The Hague previously also ruled that the passport confiscation was justified. The two men appealed.

At least six Dutch are active on an online misogyny platform incels.me - a platform for frustrated men with sometimes radical ideas that preaches violence, Trouw reports based on its own research.

"Incels" stands for "involuntarily celibate". The platform recently received large amounts of attention, after one if its members - Canadian Alek Minassian - killed 10 people in Toronto last week. The men who call themselves 'incels' consider women as cold beings who are responsible for their suffering, because they do not pay them enough, or any, attention, according to the newspaper.

The threat, aimed at Stefan de Walle, the actor who plays Sinterklaas, was made by the leader of left-wing extremist group De Grauwe Eeuw, according to the newspaper.

A Syrian man accused of being a member of ISIS by Syrian activists after being in Amsterdam last month, denies having anything to do with the terrorist organization. Speaking to Nieuwsuur and the Volkskrant, the man said that he never fought in the Syrian civil war, let alone that he was a member of ISIS.

Dutch jihadist is on his way back to the Netherlands, The Hague city councilor Arnoud van Doorn said to newspaper AD. The Dutch man plans to report to the Turkish army in the border region of Idlib in Syria, armed with a letter in which he distances himself from terrorist organization ISIS and asks the Turkish forces to help him return to the Netherlands.

England and Scotland will be playing in the affected match.

A new database established in the Netherlands contains profiles on 207 suspected Dutch jihadists who traveled to Syria or Iraq to fight in the civil war. The figures show that the Dutch jihadists come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, three quarters of them are male and they are mostly young - the average age is 23 years, the Volkskrant reports.

Dutch companies, government institutions and citizens are not responding fast enough against growing digital threats, according to National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security Dick Schoof. At home and at work Dutch people often opt for the fastest solution, instead of the most secure one. Which means that the gap between threats and security measures is getting larger instead of smaller, Schoof said in the Netherlands Cyber Security Image 2017, ANP reports.

At least five religious leaders known for their extremist views were added to the Netherlands counterterrorism radar between January 2016 and March 2017, the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security Dick Schoof said to AD. The Coordinator would not say how many people are currently on the extremist religious leader list.

The list consists of foreign preachers and other forms of religious leaders who spread anti-democratic messages, or messages of hate and violence. The Netherlands can refuse Visas to the people on the list.

The terrorism threat level in the Netherlands remains high at level 4 out of 5 after a terrorist attack in London on Sunday, National Coordinator Dick Schoof of Counterterrorism and Security said on Sunday. Seven people were killed and 48 others injured when three perpetrators crashed a delivery van into pedestrians on London Bridge and then got out and stabbed people on the street and in nearby pubs at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, NU.nl reports

They feel that Dutch national interests and state secrets are best protected by Dutch companies. With this strategy the cyber security companies are taking advantage of controversy that arose when Fox IT was bought by a British investor in 2015, Financieele Dagblad reports.

After speaking with the event sector, it was decided that all security measured will be reevaluated, Schoof said on Twitter.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and counterterrorism coordinator Dick Schoof both called an apparent attack in Manchester on Monday "terrible". At least 22 people were killed and over 50 were wounded in an explosion shortly after an Ariana Grande concert in the Manchester Arena. The English authorities are "treating it as a terrorist attack until we know something else", the police said, RTL Nieuws reports.

The victims include children. The police currently believe it was a suicide bombing.
