A hand grenade from the Second World War was discovered in a dredging ship of the Damen company based in Schiedam yesterday morning. The grenade was pulled out of a harbor during a dredging job.
A Dutch carbine rifle from the beginning of the Second World War was dug up in the forest near Leersum on Heuvelrug in Utrecht after being buried for 74 years. The weapon will be given to a museum, the Forestry Commission reports.
A family in Ijmuiden found a wartime bunker in their garden this weekend. Karin van Koot drove a trailer through the garden when one of the wheels sunk through the grass. A deep hole revealed the bunker.
