A group of both Jewish and Muslim people will come together tomorrow in Cafe Belcampo in Amsterdam West to remember and discuss the terror acts in Paris earlier this month. Deputy Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher will be speaking during the "Solidarity Night; Jews and Muslims Solidarity with Paris" and Mayor Eberhard van der Laan will be attending the event as well.

A fire in the center of Haarlem has broken out in a building in the shopping area on De Grote Houtstraat. It is unclear what caused the fire, but the area has been closed off, and neighboring buildings are being partly evacuated.

Although the 50Plus party is doing well in polls, the unions of the elderly claim to be critical of the party of Henk Krol.

The daily journal Trouw interviewed the unions of elderly people. Five of these organizations for senior citizens were not happy at all with the party.

“We don’t want to be associated with the image that 50Plus stands for the interests of the elderly only,” says Wim van Minnen, the chairman of CSO, the umbrella organization of the elderly unions. “Every discussion about the young and old undermines the solidarity that we stand for.”
