Child pornography was shared on a WhatsApp group for pupils at the Carmel College Salland in the Overijssel town of Raalte. The school speaks of an "extremely worrying situation" in an email to parents. The school management gave the situation high priority and consulted with the police about follow-up steps, De Gelderlander reports.

Jewish congregation Beth Shoshanna has to leave the Grote Synagoge in Deventer. A controversial plan by the new owners to open a food hall in the historical building has been scrapped, but the community still has to leave and is moving to Raalte on Monday, Tom Furstenberg of Beth Shoshanna said to RTV Oost.
"It is unbelievable tat a Jewish community is removed from a synagogue in 2018. That's not normal, but it happens. After 1945 the Jewish community is just too small, too weak, to be able to resist", Furstenberg said to the broadcaster.

A 29-year-old woman from Raalte received dozens of sexual messages and photos from a CDA city councilor in the Overijssel town. The councilor in question, Robert Vloedgraven, decided to withdraw as candidate councilor for the CDA in Raalte, he announced on Wednesday, De Stentor reports.
"Pictures of himself and also of his genitals, messages asking whether I'm shaved below and that I have big breasts. That kind of messages", the woman said to RTV Oost on Tuesday. She did not like the sexting, but found it hard to say no due to an anxiety disorder, she said.
