The police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of involvement in the murder of . The 17-year-old intern was killed during a shooting at a community center on Wittenburg in Amsterdam on January 26th. 

The police believe the 25-year-old man from Zwanenburg was one of the gunmen in this shooting. According to Het Parool, his DNA was found at the scene.

On Wednesday the police started searching a number of cellars, garages and sheds in the Amsterdam neighborhood of Wittenburg. They are looking for any suspicious situations that may have to do with recent fatal shootings in the neighborhood, Het Parool and AT5 report.

Mayor Jozias van Aartsen visited the Oostelijke Eilanden district in Amsterdam on Wednesday. 17-year-old at a community center in the area last week. There's a lot of work to be done in the area, the mayor concluded after speaking with the victims' families and local residents, NU.nl reports.

The police have "good hope" that the getaway car used in a shooting at a community center in Amsterdam on Friday, will provide trace evidence that can lead to the perpetrators, the police said on Opsoring Verzocht on Tuesday. 17-year-old Mohammed Bouchikhi, an intern at the community center on Grote Wittenburgerstraat, was killed in the shooting.

Extra security measures will be implemented in the Amsterdam neighborhood where a 17-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a community center on Friday. Interim mayor Jozias van Aartsen, the police and Public Prosecutor agreed to place a mobile police station in the neighborhood, have more police officers on the street, and install surveillance cameras at a number of strategic locations.

A 17-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a community center in the Amsterdam neighborhood of Wittenburg on Friday night. The boy was identified as Mohammed Bouchikhi. His family and scared local residents call on interim Amsterdam mayor Jozias van Aartsen to "do something" about the assassinations in the Dutch capital, the Telegraaf reports.
