During his flight, the man jumped into the water on Kostverlorenstraat. He tried to swim to the other side, but disappeared under water.
Divers from the fire department got the man out of the water and he was resuscitated at the scene for a long time. He was taken to hospital, where he passed away.
A fire on an airplane sent multiple fire engines responding to Eindhoven Airport on Tuesday. Firefighters quickly managed to get the fire under control and extinguish it, the fire department said on Twitter.

An 86-year-old woman was rescued from her home in Eindhoven on Saturday night after being stuck in a floor duct for nine hours. She slipped while cleaning and got her shoulder stuck in the duct, a kind of radiator in the floor, her daughter told Omroep Brabant.
