Badr Hari was caught doping. The Doping Authority found traces of the banned substance in the 34-year-old kick boxer's urine after his comeback victory against Hesdy Gerges last year, Nieuwsuur reports. The former world champion now faces suspension for up to four years.

Two former Dutch skaters say that they were offered doping by union doctor Rob Pluijmers of the KNSB in the 1980s. In one case the doctor even provided the prohibited drug, the skaters said to the Volkskrant.

Sjinkie Knegt secured second place in the 1,500-meter short-track speed skating event on Saturday, winning the Netherlands a silver medal. South Korean Hyojun Lim set an Olympic Record of 2:10.485 in his gold medal performance, beating Knegt by seven hundredths of a second.

A survey done by the Doping Authority has revealed that dozens of Dutch athletes that belong to the international top are doping. This involves 4.2 percent of athletes - more than is found in doping tests, but less than the Authority expected

The Dutch Doping Authority (De Dopingautoriteit) received information of possible usage and distribution of methylhexamine within the amateur football club SV Spakenburg in July 2014. Acting on this information, De Dopingautoriteit launched an investigation in which over twenty people either directly or indirectly involved in the allegations were interviewed, and other written material was collected.

Alberto Contador admits that Froome is in good shape and that it will be difficult to beat him on the climbs. The cunning Spaniard however, thinks that there are always tactical possibilities and he is still in the race for the first spot. “Position number two as well as position number ten don’t count, I go for number one.”

“Michael Boogerd won in 2002 in a monumental manner the Tour stage to La Plagne. It was one of the highlights in his cycling career. He, however, did not obtain the victory on his own. Before the start of the stage, the Rabobank rider underwent a blood transfusion. Blood ran from the arm of brother Rini directly to his own arm.” Boogerd fights this anecdote in a book about cycling.
