The court in The Hague acquitted a nursing home doctor of patient's murder. The now-retired doctor was careful and followed the euthanasia protocol established in Dutch law when she performed euthanasia on a woman in the advanced stages of dementia, the court said in a statement.
On Monday the court in Amsterdam sentenced Sjonny W. to 14 years and five months in prison, with institutionalized psychiatric treatment, for the murder of Mirela Mos in 2004. The man was acquitted of killing Sabrina Oosterbeek and Moinque Roossien. A man who was found dead in the Utrecht village of Wilnis on Wednesday, was acquitted in February of stalking a woman who was shot and killed in Mijdrecht on Tuesday night. De Vrieze disappeared from his Groningen home in 2010. The police eventually concluded that he had been murdered there, according to the news wire. G. was also staying in the home at the time. And blood from the victim was later found in the home.
Timo Huges, former CEO of Dutch rail company NS, was acquitted of fraud in the tender process for public transport in Limburg by the court in Den Bosch on Thursday. Five other suspects of fraud in this case were also acquitted, NU.nl reports.
