Dutch man caught with suitcase full of ketamine on Ibiza linked to Rotterdam drug bust

A drug arrest in Ibiza on Wednesday, May 14, led to the discovery of a drug warehouse in the Rotterdam area containing more than 100 kilograms of MDMA and over 1,000 kilograms of chemical raw materials, police reports. A 33-year-old man from Capelle aan den IJssel was arrested at the warehouse.

Spanish police from the Policia Nacional, UDYCO division, arrested a 23-year-old man from ’s-Hertogenbosch on Ibiza on May 14. He was apprehended while transporting a suitcase filled with drugs. Police said the suitcase contained 56,000 XTC pills and 49.5 kilograms of ketamine. He remains in custody on Ibiza.

Following that arrest, Spanish and Dutch police exchanged information. That cooperation led Dutch police to investigate locations in the Rotterdam area linked to the suspect.

Police first identified a warehouse in Rotterdam-Prins Alexander connected to the case. They then searched a warehouse in Nesselande registered under the suspect’s name.

Inside the Nesselande warehouse, police found more than 100 kilograms of MDMA, the active substance in XTC, and more than 1,000 kilograms of raw materials used to produce drugs. All drugs and materials were seized.
