Event to celebrate PSV's national title in Eindhoven city center today
Non-football fans in Eindhoven would do well to avoid the city center today. The city is hosting an event on Stadhuisplein, with multiple flow-over locations, to celebrate PSV’s Eredivisie title. The Stadhuisplein is closed off to the public all day. The event starts around 1:00 p.m.
The city will fence off the Stadhuisplein and an additional event location on the Markt. Once these locations are full, the municipality will open additional locations: the 18 Septemberplein, Catharinaplein, Stationsplein, and Oude Stadsgracht. The celebration will be broadcast live on big screens at all these locations. People following along from home can watch on PSV’s website.
The waiting areas at Stadhuisplein will open at 11:00 a.m., and the gates on Stadhuisplein and the Markt will open at 1:00 p.m. The other locations will open as they become necessary.
The podium program on Stadhuisplein will start at 2:00 p.m. From 3:00 p.m., the PSV team will tour through the city on a flatbed truck, starting at Philips Stadium. They’re expected on stage at Stadhuisplein at 5:15 p.m. The event will end at 7:00 p.m.
The city warned attendees not to bring bags, as they will not be allowed into the event areas. Face-covering clothing and fireworks are banned. Attendees may be searched at the entrances.
