Gray skies, regular showers expected for most of Easter weekend; Sunshine on Monday

The long Easter weekend will be mostly gray with regular showers, except for Monday. On Monday, you can put the umbrella away and grab the sunscreen, Weeroline forecasts. Easter bonfires on Sunday will have to deal with morning showers and a strong southwesterly wind during the afternoon hours.

Good Friday starts with a lot of cloud cover. “Due to a strengthening southwesterly wind, the wind chill will feel lower than the thermometer indicates,” said Weeronline meteorologist Sarah van Gorp. Some rain is expected, especially on the west and northwest coast. Maximums will range between 9 and 12 degrees.

Saturday will see pleasant weather, apart from a few showers during the morning hours. In the afternoon, there will be patches of clouds interspersed with sunny moments. It will be dry everywhere, with a moderate westerly wind and maximums between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius, north to south. “This makes it good weather for a walk in nature.”

Easter egg hunts on Sunday morning may have to be postponed due to rain, but Easter bonfires later in the day should be fine, as long as the organizers can keep the wood from getting soggy and take the wind into account. A zone of light rain will move from west to east across the country on Sunday morning, then move out of the country via the southeast around noon.

The mercury will rise to between 11 and 14 degrees, but a strong southwesterly wind will make it feel colder. “During the evening, it will clear up everywhere, and the wind will decrease in strength.” It will cool down quickly, so remember a coat.

Monday will look entirely different than the weekend. “It will be lovely spring weather,” Van Gorp said. “The sun will shine brightly all day, and at most, a few friendly cumulus clouds will form in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures range between 11 and 15 degrees from north to south, but in the sun and with little wind, it feels pleasantly warm.”
