Man arrested after breaking Into Goudswaard home and sexually assaulting two women
A 29-year-old man from Spijkenisse was arrested Monday in Lelystad for allegedly committing two sexual assaults in a Goudswaard home over the weekend, police reports. The assaults reportedly occurred during the night of Saturday, March 7, to Sunday, March 8.
Authorities say the suspect is accused of breaking into the victims’ residence and committing the crimes inside. Police in Lelystad apprehended him early Monday after responding to a reported break-in at an industrial area.
Upon questioning, officers discovered he was wanted in connection with the sexual assaults in Goudswaard. The suspect was handed over to the Rotterdam police unit, whose sexual crimes detectives will continue the investigation.
Investigators began examining the Goudswaard crime scene on Sunday, conducting forensic tests, questioning neighbors, and reviewing security camera footage. A police alert was issued for the suspect, which ultimately led to his arrest.
